15 RANDOM THINGS I’M GRATEFUL FOR

The one thing I do know is being grateful in the present will give you the comfort and peace you need to live with intention. I had to learn acknowledging, accepting, and trusting where I am in the now is the only way to live intentionally in the present. Not doing so will always have one desiring for more, leaving a feeling of never being satisfied. FINDING JOY IN THE LITTLE THINGS

Have you ever had your eye on that one thing. Then you finally got it. Not too long after, you began thinking about something else, searching for that something else, and planning the time to get it. I’ll say it again, everything you have now is what you prayed or wanted for. Where you are is where you are supposed to be. When you conquer this level you’ll move up. In the meantime be grateful for the simple things and nurture it.

15 Random Simple Joys I’m Grateful For

-Without question, my mental awareness and state of mind
-My conversation with my older cousin the other day
-That bowl of cheddar broccoli soup
-Going to the dentist last week
-New level of growth my husband and I are on
-The activity of my limbs
-Waking up to sun shining through my window
-Being able to fix my kid’s breakfast every morning
-My home feels like home, safe
-Planning my Christmas decorations
-Enjoying breakfast and coffee with my oldest son while watching early football games
-Walking through Barnes and Noble with my husband
-Going for a walk
-Enjoying the new recipe I found on Pinterest
-Clarity and refresh after decluttering and cleaning out closets over the weekend

Those are 15 random things that brought me joy and I am grateful for. So often we think about health, home, car, life, and family. But focusing on the simple joys that may seem meaningless will provide us with more encouragement, confidence, and motivation to live intentionally in the moment.

Before you go to bed write down at least 10 joys.

GRATITUDE REALLY DOES WORK

After listening to many motivational videos, the one thing that was repeated consistently was exercising gratitude. No matter who was speaking or what they were speaking on, gratitude really does work and get you out of a funk instantly. This is something I had to work at and exercise in my daily life.

photograph of a person s hand holding a gift box

We get many examples of this in our daily life. There was a point of 2 months span, we had to get both our vehicles fixed. One vehicle we had to get fixed twice in one month. And the other vehicle once. Was it frustrating. ABSOLUTELY!!!! Did we have other plans we wanted to do. YUP. But I had to quickly remind my husband, let’s be grateful and thank God we had the ability and finances to get them fixed. Neither one of us had to miss work and we are still alive and breathing. What was supposed to happen, happened. How we respond is up to us. MENTAL HEALTH REMINDER: YOU CAN LOVE YOURSELF RIGHT NOW

But this thought of gratitude really working came to me when a woman, 92 years young, came to my office to have a thank you card published in the monthly newspaper. She had been in the hospital the previous week and she wanted to thank her family and friends for their well wishes, cards, visits, and prepped meals. However, repeatedly she kept saying how grateful she was to be alive. She really thought her time was up. She said being able to wake up in her home in her bed was the best gift God gave her to do again. All she wanted to do was give her thanks while she’s still here. Lastly, the best part she said , “you know He really didn’t have to save me”.

I froze at my desk. Ros what do you have to complain about? I responded to myself quickly, nothing at all. I have a home with air conditioning. There are people sleeping on the streets in this hot summer heat. I have food to eat. Many families are going to shelters and Salvation Army’s to get meals. I have a job. My husband has a job. We have vehicles to get to work. Our health is good. Our kids smiled today. I had a drink of clean water. Most importantly I have the ability to pass this on.

So if you’re unhappy about your current situation or going through anything, look around, write down 10 things that you are grateful for. Remember every situation is temporary. Learn what you need. That’s how we grow. We are forced out of our comfort zones when we’re stubborn. Each day practice gratitude. In order to increase and reach our full capacity we must be grateful now so we can appreciate more later. Be well!!!!

I’ve heard a million times, one of the best and easiest ways to pick yourself up is to make a list of things you’re grateful for. We are blessed everyday just to wake up. Even if you’re in good spirits and life has you feeling good, it still is a good idea to list a couple things each day that you’re grateful for. 10 WAYS TO LIVE HAPPIER A daily gratitude journal may be the best if you don’t know where to start. But I thought I’d just make a list of things I’ve been especially grateful for.

5 THINGS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW

The little things makes me happy. There are 5 things I’ve been loving right now that has been getting me through the days. A good way to center yourself is to focus on what you have and those things that make you feel good. Here are 5 things I’m loving right now.

  1. Alaffia Everyday Face Toner. Facial mist is one of my favorite skin care products. This particular toner gives my skin moisture, closes my pores, and keeps my skin soft. The scent of the coconut isn’t over powering. After cleansing I spray on my face and let it dry before continuing with my skin care routine. This toner claims to balance and hydrate, while protecting, toning, and firming the skin. I will definitely keep repurchasing this toner. https://amzn.to/3dSrbKx
  2. Leopard Print. Anything leopard print I have been loving lately. Right now I’m loving my Dear Foam slippers. In my head, leopard print is a basic or neutral that has become my go to accent or accessory. I already keep a minimal palette of gray, black, and white. So without conscious I’ve been using leopard print to give me some sass. https://amzn.to/2PnNAG2
  3. My Aloe Plant. One of my goals this year was to fix my green thumb. I must say I’m super excited and proud of myself because my aloe plant has been doing well. It’s growing and adding the touch I wanted to the house. I’ve began to branch out and trying to nurture some peace lily plants as well. It proves with practice, patience, and persistence you can achieve anything.🪴
  4. Pajama Sets. For a couple months now I have enjoyed lounging in two piece sets. Even though they say they are pajamas, I’ve enjoyed them after work and on the weekends. I feel good in them. I’m comfortable and if someone makes a surprise visit I’m presentable to entertain. Sometimes people don’t even think they are pajamas. My, how the tables have turned. I used to think this was for people of a certain age, but I’m loving them right now. https://amzn.to/3vfnX9B
  5. Simple Water Boost Skin Quench, Sleeping Cream. If you want an inexpensive dupe to any water gel moisturizer this is the one. First of all, it’s only $5 on Amazon. This moisturizer is perfect for your summer months. It’s light but sinks into the skin moisturizing it all through the night. Waking up, your skin is soft, smooth, and supple. It gives you the plumpness and bounce back you are looking for. https://amzn.to/2QYmPYU

What are you loving right? Big or small, there is something that makes you smile, makes you feel good, and gives you a boost of sass. These are just 5 things I’m loving right now, I’m pretty sure there are more. There is plenty to be grateful for. Focus on the things that uniquely makes you, You. Have a great day!!!!!

Happy Sunday AND LET GO

I just wanted to come to you all really quick and wish you a Happy Sunday morning, noon, or night. I hope you get the peace, relaxation, and joy this day has to offer before the start of the week.

It’s been heavy on me to express to those who are in distress or not, that there’s a reason and purpose for everything even in the toughest of times. Find your purpose for living. Even in the midst of storm my family is in following the death of my mother in law, I can’t help but to have this overwhelming feeling of gratitude.

Blessed Through The Storms

While in the storm we are getting drenched, dirt poured on us, and beat down in the process. Stay present in the moment. Feel every drop of dirt, debris, and rain no matter how bad it hurts. We need the storms to grow and show us the true strength and power we have. My friends anything that is good for us needs dirt and water to grow. Plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables.

We will have storms, we can’t stop that. But its how we clean up that will make us stronger. How we learn and overcome, will prepare us for the next storm.

If you are sick believe that you are healed. If you are weak believe you are strong. You have been prepared and equipped for every storm. You have everything you need to withstand. At this moment you just have to access it through gratitude 🙏 and having Faith.

Thank you and God Bless. Happy Sunday everyone!!!!!

Random THOUGHTS…Happy Friday Y’all

We’re 15 days into the new year and it seems it’s been a long one already. I’d thought I give a random post of all my thoughts random thoughts. There is so much going on around the world, in our homes, and on our jobs that can easily get us into the state of “How in the world did I end up here?”

Right now more than ever taking a moment to ourself is crucial to all of our wellbeing. Even if you can get five minutes in, it’s better than none. For example, turn the news off, do not consume that all day. Also turn off your social media notifications for a day or so. If you feel you can’t turn off your notifications just don’t respond, read, or look at them for a day. The goal is to give yourself a moment for clarity and to be with one in your own thoughts.

To sum up, please be mindful of what and how much you are consuming for the benefit of your mental health . This includes your conversations with family, friends, and coworkers. If you have someone at work like I do, who loves to talk about politics every moment of day, find a way to recenter. For me, I either completely ignore them, turn on my radio really low, and zone out. Eventually when I don’t respond or engage they stop or switch the subject. Another way I deflect is to simply say “I’ve had my fair share of politics I’m really not interested in discussing it right now.” Finally, my last resort, is to literally refer the conversation back work or another subject.

That goes for any subject matter that you are tired of talking about or hearing about.

Another random thought that has been heavy on me is to ask yourself what are you condoning, participating, accepting, and accommodating? Right now there are many things that we normalize and gloss over as if its ok, knowing deep down it’s not. Stop twisting yourself into a pretzel, to keep the peace in fear of being left out and talked about.

If it ain’t right, don’t sit well in your spirit, and you don’t want to, then exist gracefully. Just another random thought I’d like to share to help those feeling pressured to do certain things.

I’ve had to come to grips with this subject matter this week. Unfortunately, my mother in law passed away, and me knowing my role on when, where, and how far to extend my support had to become clear to me. I had to step back and say it’s not my mother, my husband has siblings, and I don’t have a say so. The most important was for me to make myself available. I was beginning to struggle on if I was being a good wife. But I had to realize my support is to my husband and my children, who lost their grandmother.

Finally, I come to know and understand that I can’t fix people or save people. I can’t and will not break myself down trying to fix someone else. Also if it has nothing to do with you, it doesn’t concern you, it’s none of your business, it doesn’t effect you or your family, it’s out of your control, or you can’t change it, then let it GO. Don’t be mad, angry, upset, bitter, or hold a grudge. Just be done and let go. And don’t look back.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only that have some random thoughts that doesn’t seem to all fit. But thats ok, as long as you can acknowledge them. Those random thoughts will fit together one day. Bet on yourself first, this one time, and give yourself a chance.

10 Things I’m Thankful For In 2020

-Waking up to the sun shining in my window
-The fact that I get to say I have a job and get to go to work
-After falling ill, my health is in good condition
-We have been without lack of food and water
-I have family and friends that love me
-I get to enjoy going for a walk, blogging, listening to music, and playing in makeup
-Basic necessities; home, car, insurance, working arms and legs, fingers and toes
-Those veggie fajitas I had for dinner
-Kindness of the stranger who paid for our dinner at Applebees and then McDonalds
-Access to the Internet

This year has been EXTRA. As we approach the holiday season, the best time of the year, it is a constant reminder that we’re still in the year of 2020. How we used to gather and celebrate some of us aren’t able to.

Between working from, to the kids doing virtual learning, and the stress of worrying about my husband whose an essential worker its been trying. But I must say we have been BLESSED beyond measure this year.

As I think back when this all started in February and March, we were scared, confused, and trying to process it. For me I have a 14 year old who’s on the spectum and I couldn’t imagine how I was going to get him through virtual learning along with two other children and working from home. But of course with the GRACE of God we did, and everything worked out just fine.

Just me having the ability to work from home was a blessing. But then at the end of March we experienced a terrible hail storm that totaled both of our vehicles. We were on lockdown for real after that. We couldn’t do anything because at the time appraisers weren’t coming out and body shops were closed. I remember going outside everyday looking at my vehicles sweeping up glass in the driveway.

When it happened my husband and I made the decision we weren’t going to panic, stress, or make any spur of the moment decisions. We literally looked at each other and said “well I guess God said we need to sit at home”. We did and enjoyed every minute of it. If this was even a year ago, I would have panicked and stressed myself out so much. But there were circumstances that were out of my control and I just had to let go.

We’ve all been stressed this year, up and down, and waiting on a moment to just breathe a sigh of relief. But even in the midst, there is so much to be thankful and grateful for. I challenge you to look around and point out the countless things you’re grateful for.

It doesn’t have to be huge. It can be that gallon of milk in the fridge, the fact you got to watch your favorite tv show, or you got to clean the garage.

Use this time to express and share gratitude. Instead of worrying about what it used to be, look at how good it is now.
