10 DAILY REMINDERS FOR A POSITIVE MINDSET

I’ve been working on my mental mindset lately. I know everything starts with the mental. What I think I will become. My mind controls everything down to my toes. It’s important to know and understand the power your mind has. Creating a positive mindset and having daily habits to keep it on the positive track will help for more happy days. Unfortunately, we just can’t wake up and say I have a positive mindset. The mind has to be exercised daily.

Here are my 10 Daily Reminders for A Positive Mindset

  • Keep your expectations low. The more you expect, the greater chance you’ll be let down. Expecting others to do what you do, give what you give, or respond how you’d respond will have you disappointed every time.
  • Boundaries save relationships. The more we let others cross our boundaries without consequences, the more anger, resentment, and frustration builds toward that person. Boundaries are not only healthy for you, but the other person as well.
  • You’ve survived every bad day you thought you had. With that sheer fact, you are a winner. So guess what, you can grow and heal through anything.
  • What you tell yourself matters. Think highly and abundantly of yourself. Instead of saying I am not qualified, tell yourself you haven’t accessed the skills yet needed. The words you tell yourself matters more than any one else’s words. 10 MENTAL HEALTH REMINDERS
  • Each day wake up with the expectation that something good is going to happen to you, with you, and for you. Go into each day knowing you’re going to be blessed with something off your wish list.
  • You are equipped and have everything you need to be the best version of you. You don’t lack anything. You have been filled with what you need. You want to know why? There is only one you. No one has what you have or can be you.
  • Master the art of remaining emotionally calm. Do not respond emotionally. It will lead you astray. Our emotions are temporary. Therefore, we shouldn’t make long term decisions off temporary emotions.
  • It is ok to have a bad day. We all are going to wake up one day and just not be in the mood. As long as you don’t let that dictate your outcome. The next day is a fresh start.
  • Nurture you mind, soul, heart, and body daily. You have to take care of yourself inside and out everyday. Show yourself some love so you can give love and receive love.
  • Give yourself some grace. Be patient with yourself. You are doing the best you can with what you have.

Those are 10 daily reminders that keep my mental in a state of abundance. Consistently feed your mind with positive thoughts, images, and reminders to build that bank up. So when you do have a bad day, the bank is in overflow and you won’t lack.

6 BEAUTY TIPS FOR CLEAR SKIN

It took me a while to learn my skin and create a regimen. However, there are some non product beauty tips for clear skin that I’ve adopted to help keep my skin clear. 5 NON BEAUTY RELATED SKIN CARE TIPS The first thing to do is learn your skin type, then learn what products work for you, and lastly, be consistent. You must be consistent to achieve results.

Tip#1-Limit Alcohol
If you want to dry your skin out, drink excessive amounts of alcohol. Too much consumption, dehydrates the skin, thus leaving the skin to begin sagging, creating wrinkles, and causes breakouts. Also the lack of hydration causes your skin to look dull, grey, and lifeless. Notice I said too much. An occasional drink here and there is ok. If you do have a drink, drink double the amount of water to flush out your system. Another good way to flush out the system is to sweat it out. So a good workout to get you sweaty will help.

Tip#2-Don’t Touch Your Face
This one was hard for me. For someone who works in an office it’s very easy to rest your face in your hands. This causes all the natural oils from your hands and bacteria to soak into the skin. Not only touching your face with hands, make sure to wipe your phone often because it rest on the skin while talking, and don’t let others touch your face.

Tip#3-Keep Hair Out of Face
We use a lot of product in our hair. I know for me, any kind of hair on my face I will immediately breakout. The hair sprays, oils, and serums can effect our skin if we consistently allow our hair to rest on our face.

Tip#4-Change Your Pillow Case Often
I’ve heard some women say they sleep on their back to keep their face off the pillow. But at some point our face will touch the pillow. I’m personally a side sleeper, so inevitably my face will touch the pillow. Once again, the oils from the hair and product will transfer onto the skin. Changing as often as you can, will help eliminate unwanted breakouts.

Tip#5-Limit Sugar and Dairy
This is personal for me. Once I eliminated sugary drinks and dairy from my diet I noticed a huge difference in my skin. Lots of soda, candy, dairy, and sweets can cause breakouts that leave scars and discoloration. Remember whatever we put into our body comes out in our skin. That is with the good and bad.

Tip#6-Don’t Stress and Worry
Yes, I know this is very difficult to do. But stress and worry wears on our skin worse than makeup. Sometimes we can stress so bad, it wears on our pores, saggy skin, redness, dark circles, breakouts, lines, wrinkles, and even swelling. When faced with difficult times it’s most important to focus on our self care more. Spending extra time on ourselves in challenging times, refocus our attention on something we can control.

In addition to these tips keep your regimen simple and listen to your skin. It will tell you what you need. Good all round skin care is in our daily habits.

SIMPLE DAYS ARE THE BEST DAYS

So often we have this misconception that each day has to be filled with an event or something big happening. When in actuality, the simple days are the best days. As I’ve matured and go on this journey I love having a simple full productive day.

Expect To Have A Great Day

What Does That Look Like:

It starts off with me sleeping in with my husband. The both of us not getting up at 5a.m. and can lay there to watch the sun come through the window is peace, love, joy, and calmness. Hearing my kids gradually wakeup when they are ready instead of me waking them up to get ready for school I love hearing. To see their personalities and who likes to get up early and who likes to sleep in is amazing.

Next, it’s getting dressed in my comfortable lounge around house clothes, but still cute enough to go to the store. Having a moment getting showered, dressed, and ready for the day triggers the positive side of my brain. Doing my skincare routine and making sure I’m presentable and feel good about myself sets my mood.

After that, opening up blinds, curtains, and windows to let the natural sunlight and air come through. When you allow nature to come in, it opens your eyes, heart, and mind to a new spiritual realm. It makes you want to go out for a walk, lifts your spirits, and know darkness is only temporary. SELF CARE HABITS: 8 DAILY HABITS TO FEEL YOUR BEST

Fixing breakfast for my family and having the smell of coffee coming from the brewer makes me feel good and excites me. I love being a mom and wife. Taking care of my family is something I pride myself on. They are the air I breathe.

After everyone has had breakfast they break off and do whatever it is they heart desires. This is having a simple day that is the best. My daughter goes to draw and use her creativity. My sons and husband get in their time on the video game. While I, do laundry, edit blog post, post listings on Poshmark, do a quick tidy around the house, or go for a walk.

That may take a couple of hours and then my daughter and I will play in hair and makeup. She may want me to change her hairstyle while I go and play in new makeup I’ve purchased. Either way spending quality time with her is the best.

Well, now it’s early evening and we’re hungry. So we decide to go have dinner. Having dinner out is fun, great conversation with the kids, and good family time. The kids are talking without prompts and we’re all engaged because they aren’t distracted with their phones. After dinner we may go to the store and get ice cream or walk around because the kids just want to go buy ”something.”

Lastly, we go home unwind, shower, and wash the day off. Maybe watch some movie or find something to binge watch. Sometimes we get alone time because the kids are off doing their own thing and other times they may join us in whatever we watch.

The beauty of this simple day is that it was filled with love, family, gratitude, and variety. All while doing ”nothing” I was able to sleep in, spend time with my husband alone, have family time, get a little work done, and still have time to rest. I can’t ask for a better day.

Simple days are the best days. Don’t stress yourself out trying to ”make” the day fun or exciting. You are already fun and exciting. Focus on what you have and the small details and the best simple day will come to you. You don’t have to do anything extra to have a great day. When you wake up expect to have a great day no matter what.

Daily Self Care Habits To Boost Your Mental Health

We are living in uncertain times right now. Daily self care habits are essential to develop for our mental and emotional wellbeing. On a daily most of us are feeling an array of emotions. Even those that seem to have it all together and make themselves appear to be unbothered is feeling some type of way. But, we are still in control of what we think and the choices we make. No matter what’s happening around us, there are a couple of things we can do to have a good day.

Wake up Early

Everyone on this planet has the same amount of time allowed to them. It’s up to us on how we manage that 24 hours. One for sure way to get the most out of your day is to wake up early. Waking up early gives you a moment to yourself. You can gather yourself before anyone wakes up. Meditate, pray, and getting in your exercise prepares you mentally, physically, and emotionally for the day. The rest of the day is free for you to work, enjoy time with the family, and do something you’ve been wanting to do.

Call a Friend

Ok, I get being super busy. Being married with three children and both of us work outside the home we have a jammed packed schedule. But guess what, setting a moment to call a friend who I haven’t spoken with in a while not only lifts their spirits but mine as well. Having a good conversation with a friend freezes time and brings you back to earth for a second. We’re all busy but letting someone know you are thinking about them can be a make or break moment that you didn’t know about.

Compliment Someone

Have you noticed when you present someone with a gift what it does to your soul? It lifts your spirits to make someone else’s day or make them smile. Giving someone a compliment boosts their confidence and yours. Giving a sense of worth or bringing a smile to someone else does the same for you. We want to feel good so we should start by making others feel good about themselves.

Listen to Music on Your Way to Work

Listening to a good song on the way to work puts you in a chipper mood all day. The morning traffic or the people that are angry because they have to be up early won’t phase you one bit. In fact your upbeat spirit may become infectious. Feed your mental with matter that brings laughter and light to you, so you can spread it to others. Daily self care habits requires action regularly. Journaling For Mental Health, TRY IT

Drink Lots of Water

What does drinking water have to do with having a good day? Well staying hydrated increases our energy and helps with our metabolism. Drinking water helps our bodily fluids stay in balance hence and we release toxins when we go the bathroom and sweat. If you don’t like the taste of plain water there is a ton of options for you to add flavor to it.

Exercise

Burn some calories and release negative energy. Use exercise to take your frustrations out. Exercising increases our performance not only physical but mentally and emotionally. Keeping your heart pumping and blood flowing gives a head to toe rejuvenation. Literally after a workout you’ll feel more energized. Actually, exercise should be at the top of this list. Part of daily self care habits is ensuring our physical body is just as ready as our mental.

Put the Phone Down

From the news, to social media, to friends sending you nonsense give your mental a break. Filling up on negativity will send you into a state of fear, depression, and anger. Watch the news for ten minutes and then let it go. Get just enough to keep you informed about what’s going on in the world. Limit your social media intake and what you consume. Don’t get so involved with others lives that you lose sight of yours.

Watch Something Funny

Lately I’ve found myself going for a comedic show. It’s a way I’ve been protecting my mental and getting away from the nonsense that’s going on around me. Laughter is the best medicine. Constantly listening and watching something negative begins to shift your perspective on life in a negative manner. Soon your beliefs become what you’ve consumed.

Expect to Have a Good Day

I learned before I roll out of bed and say to myself today is going to be a good day, I have a good day. Make the decision to have a good day no matter what you encounter on that day. Even in challenging times or events there is something positive you can say about a 24 hour period. Remember you may think the weight of the world is on your shoulders but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

At the end of the day, point intended, we make the choices throughout our day. We can choose the positive road or the negative route. Why don’t we save ourselves heart ache and take the positive route. After all tomorrow is a new day for us to be great.
