Monday Humor: Enjoy the Moment – It’s Still Summer!

Ah, Mondays. The start of a new week, the perfect time for a little humor to kick things off and remind us to stay present and enjoy the moment. Who else feels like July is here in a blink, the 4th of July holiday is already over, and suddenly the stores are putting out school supplies? Clearance and closeout sales are everywhere, and people are already gearing up for fall, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and even Christmas!

It’s almost comical how quickly the retail world moves. One minute we’re enjoying fireworks and BBQs, and the next, we’re bombarded with back-to-school ads and pumpkin spice everything. It seems like the world is in a hurry to rush through the year, skipping from one major holiday to the next. Even my favorite, QVC, is hosting their annual Christmas in July sale. But amidst this whirlwind of seasonal transitions, it’s important to pause and remember to enjoy the now. 5 SIMPLE AND EASY HEALTHY TIPS FOR SUMMER

A Humorous Take on Seasonal Rush
Let’s take a lighthearted look at this phenomenon:

**1. Summer Sales to Santa Sightings:
Is it just me, or do the summer clearance sales start before we’ve even had a chance to get a decent tan? You walk into a store for sunscreen and end up surrounded by Christmas lights. It’s as if the retail calendar is on fast-forward.

**2. The School Supplies Frenzy:
Nothing says “enjoy your summer” like a giant “Back to School” banner in July. Parents, take a deep breath – there’s still plenty of time before the school bell rings again. Kids, savor those lazy days and ice cream cones while you can. I had to tell my daughter to hold her horses when she asked about back to school shopping.

**3. Pumpkin Spice Preview:
Pumpkin spice lattes here they come? At this rate, we’ll be sipping peppermint mochas by September. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good PSL, but can we please let summer have its moment in the sun? Now I’ll have to confess this one is a little hard because I do enjoy a good latte.

**4. Holiday Countdown:
It feels like there’s a countdown clock for every holiday. “Only 90 days until Halloween!” “Thanksgiving is just around the corner!” Can we hit the pause button and enjoy the warm, sunny days of July without feeling like we’re behind on our holiday shopping? If you don’t have good will power, stay away from stores like Hobby Lobby. They’ll have you decorating for fall in July and lighting warm vanilla candles.

The Reminder to Stay Present

Amidst all this rush, here’s your Monday reminder: enjoy now and stay in the moment. It’s still summer! There’s no need to fast-forward through the season. Although fall/winter holidays are my favorite time of the year, it’s still important for us to stay present in the now. Here are a few tips to help you stay present and make the most of the sunny days:

**1. Embrace the Outdoors:
Take advantage of the long, warm days by spending time outside. Whether it’s a picnic in the park, a hike in the mountains, or simply lounging by the pool, savor the fresh air and sunshine. One of the ways we’ve been enjoying our time is heading to Food Truck Fridays, Thursday Night Live, or any event that is being held. Not only do we get out and have some summer fun. But we get out our comfort zone and try places and events we normally wouldn’t. Bonus tip: there is so many free local activities you can enjoy.

**2. Unplug and Unwind:
Give yourself a break from the constant stream of future-focused advertisements and social media posts. Spend some time offline, enjoying the here and now without the pressure of what’s coming next. Give yourself a break to think for yourself. Too much screen time will have you shopping, engaging in content that isn’t beneficial for your mental health, and focused on the next moment.

**3. Create Summer Memories:
As I get older, better, and happier the less I want material things. I’d rather have experiences and moments that have a lasting memory and impact on my overall health. Plan fun activities that you’ll remember fondly. Host a summer BBQ, go on a road trip, or try a new outdoor sport. These moments will become cherished memories that you can look back on when the weather gets colder.

**4. Practice Mindfulness:
After it’s all said and done, be grateful for this day that we won’t get back. Mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, or simply taking a moment to appreciate your surroundings, can help keep you grounded in the present.

While it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of seasonal transitions and holiday preparations, it’s essential to remember to enjoy the present moment. So, this Monday, take a step back, laugh at the absurdity of it all, and soak in the summer vibes. There’s plenty of time for school supplies, pumpkin spice, and holiday cheer. Right now, let’s embrace the sunshine, the warmth, and the joy of summer.

Happy Monday, everyone! Let’s make the most of today.
