5 TIPS TO BEAT THE AFTERNOON SLUMP

Lately because work has been slow, I had begun to get these afternoon slumps. I had to switch somethings up in my routine to give myself an afternoon pick me up. Here are a couple of tips to beat that afternoon slump.

  1. Healthy Snack. Because I work in an office setting and sit at a desk for hours it’s important for me to choose wisely when it comes to snacking. Try this very tasty but inexpensive blend mix to give you some energy. https://amzn.to/3aFamU2 This week I focused on packing fresh fruits, several different kinds of trail mix, and a good protein bar. All are packed with natural flavors, low sugar, and high in protein. Opting for a Healthy Snack provides more energy and benefits than cookies, chips, or candy.
  2. Water. Water. Water. Staying hydrated is a must. The more Water I drink the more I’m going to have to get up and go to the bathroom, which is a good thing. The more Water you drink the less you snack. Also the more Water you drink, is a great way to reduce belly bloating. And of course your skin stays clear. Yes, I slice lemon in the morning, place it in a baggy, and in my lunch bag. This helps me keep variety and flavor with my Water. Limit the soda and sugary coffee drinks that will give you an afternoon crash.
  3. Get Up and Move. Taking a 5-10 minute break is essential to beating the afternoon slump. Go outside, get some fresh air, and walk around. 6 TIPS FOR MONDAY MORNING BLUES Give your eyes a break from looking at a computer screen. This will give you a natural boost of energy. If you can, go to a coworker desk and have a quick chit chat. Don’t do anything work related for a few moments.
  4. Turn on tunes. Sometimes if it’s too quiet I will turn on some soft music. If you can, create some noise or distraction for you to focus on where only you can hear at your desk. If I don’t do some soft jazz, I’ll turn an audio book, or video on YouTube. The goal here is to give your mind something else to hear and focus on.
  5. routine Switch. This is simple and works. Among your daily tasks switch up your routine. Find a way to make your job interesting but yet still productive. Doing the same thing day after day will get boring and provides lack of enthusiasm. Bonus Tip: Get creative and switch your desk around. Spruce up your work area.

These tips to beat the afternoon slump is for anyone to use. You don’t have to work in an office setting. If you work from home these are great tips. If you’re a stay at home mom, the tips can help. Adjust and tailor them to fit your needs.

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Protect Your Peace And Energy

My friends it is very important that we reach a place in our mind, heart, body, soul, and spirit where we are at peace. I mean you have to get to a point where nothing or no one can shift or shake your mood, get you upset, and ruin your day.

P-Protect your mental and emotional wellbeing. Love from a distance. Forgive and move on. Create space if needed to. Make sure that you are putting yourself in positions to feed off positive energy and people.

E-Evolving into the person you want to become is a process. Enjoy the process. Evolving is great and we are going to constantly evolve as we age and grow.

A-Acknowledge vulnerability. Being vulnerable allows you to get to know yourself on an intimate level. Peeling back the layers and being free gives you a clear vision of yourself.

C-Cheer yourself up daily. If you do something good tell yourself that. If you feel like you look good that day, tell yourself that. Don’t be afraid to affirm and pat yourself on the back.

E-Expand your mind and heart to believe higher about yourself. God doesn’t have limits on us, so neither should we. believe higher and better about yourself. Know you can do the impossible. Even if others doubt you or don’t believe in you. GOD IS A KEEPER

Please understand that you remaining calm, not responding verbally or non verbal, rejecting phone calls, not responding to text and taking your moment is OK to do. Anything negative or not in your best interest shall be dismissed or blocked.

Self Care: Declutter and Make Room for Growth

Right now we live in a world where more is better. We’ve come addicted to having “stuff”. One for sure way to get yourself lost is surrounding yourself with an abundance of “things” or making yourself believe you need more than you need.

I’ve heard the saying a person’s home or car is reflection of who they are. No I don’t mean if they have a messy car or home then they are nasty. Being nasty and just having stuff laying around is two different things.

If you get a ride from someone and they have to clean the seat off for you to sit down then thats how they run their life. In most cases they are always in a rush or just barely making it to work or appointments on time. Even though they have a phone they probably missed the reminder or because their life is so sporadic they didn’t even set a reminder.

When you walk into a person home and if just seems like they have stuff everywhere with no meaning or purpose then that is a reflection of them. They may feel like they have to hold on to things and sometimes its hard for them to get rid of “stuff.” Holding on to trinkets for memories sometimes hold us back from moving on from things that has happened in the past.

If you find you look around and see stuff collecting dust, you don’t use it, or you haven’t wore a certain piece of clothing in a while then get rid of it. Most of the time once we declutter our home, our minds begin to open up. Getting rid of old stuff that doesn’t serve a purpose make room for something else to come into your life that have meaning.

Go through the closet and get rid of those old clothes and shoes that are out dated. You haven’t wore them in forever and saving for a “just in case” event is holding you back. If that event hasn’t come by now then you don’t need it. Most often when that “just in case event” comes you’ll probably go out and purchase something new.

When we declutter our home we renew mind and our new thoughts, ideas come to the forefront. Our creativity is refreshed and we get a new sense of purpose, our confidence is renewed, and we have motivation to push through whatever has been holding us back.

Purging old meaningless things allows us to let go of the past and move on. Holding on keeps us bound to certain events and things that happened to us. Decluttering gives you power to say I’m not going to live in the past and be stuck.

If you’re ready to grow, move on from the past, and renew your spirit get rid of the old and make room for new beginnings.
